 A healthy diet is a diet that helps maintain or improve good health condition. A healthy diet provides essential nutrition to the body system. A healthy diet may contain fruits,legumes,nuts,lean protein, vegetables and whole grains, and may include little to no processed food or sweetened beverages. A healthy diet gives your body the nutrient it needs function correctly.

A well-balanced diet provides all of these;

 -Energy you need to keep active throughout the day

 -Nutrient you need for growth and repair, helping you to stay strong and healthy and help to prevent diet-related illness, such as cancer.

What to eat for a healthy diet

A healthy,balanced diet will usually include the following nutrients;

-vitamins, minerals,and antioxidants

-carbohydrates,including starches and fiber

-protein

-healthy fats

A healthy diet will include a variety of foods from the following groups;

-fruits

-vegetables

-grains

-dairy

-protein foods

Foods to avoid or limit on a healthy diet include;

-highly processed foods 

-refined grains

-added sugar and salt

-red and processed meat

-alcohol

-trans fat

Consequencies of not eating healthy

-tooth decay

-being overweight or obese

-high blood pressure

-high cholesterol 

-heart disease and stroke  

-type-2 diabetes

-osteoporosis

-some cancers

-eating disorder
