NIGERIA AT 60

Hurray!!! Our dear nation Nigeria is 60. It's our independence Day; but the big question is are we really Independent or we just had a change of colonial masters from foreigners to same race colonialism. Today, Nigeria turns 60 and that's the age of retirement. As we celebrate today, let's take time to reflect on how far we've come even the Bible says "Teach me to number my days so I can apply my heart unto wisdom" It's time for Nigeria and Nigerians to be wise and retire properly. Now the question is; retire from what? It's time we retire from mediocrity; let's stop deceiving ourselves clamoring for change and we not willing to be change agents. It's time we retire from fattened records of violence, banditry and all forms of killings. It's time we retire from Electoral malpractices and allow INEC to be actually Independent instead of being controlled by selfish interests of greedy power enthusiasts. Let's retire from selling our pride (votes) for immediate satisfaction and then be subjected to 4years of hunger and suffering It's time we retire from clueless and visionless leadership and embrace innovative mindset thereby making Nigeria not just Giant of Africa but the envy of the world. Let's retire from laziness and always looking for shortcut to success and embrace hardwork and consistency. Let's use our brains and creativity wisely and positively. And finally let's retire from aged and old generation leadership and allow the Youth with strength, creativity and focus to rule and pilot the country in positive directions. It's time we resume rededicating this great Nation; Nigeria to God and determine that we think positively, act right and work smart. God bless Nigeria Written by David O Okharedia 08165008396
