HOW TO DEAL WITH POVERTY IN THE SOCIETY

                                                  WHAT IS POVERTY?

Poverty is not something good in this life. Almost everybody in this world were experiencing extreme poverty but do you know why? Some people will be saying it and also be praying that they no want poverty in their life but let me make it clear to you now that if you are not working and you are just praying the result is still poverty.For those people that don't want to work before they eat, that they will just sit down and be waiting for God's miracle to happen without working were expecting poverty even bible said ''Having faith without a job is as good as being dead'', so also according to this saying that ''Man wey no work, no go chop''. It also says that ''No food for lazy man'' and for those that born plenty children without having any work you are doing is calling for poverty totally because how will they feed the children.

Poverty is the state of  not having enough material possessions or income for a person's basic needs. Poverty may include social, economic, and political elements.Absolutely poverty is the complete lack of the means necessary to meet basic personal needs, such as food, clothing, and shelter. The floor at which absolute poverty is defined is always about the same, independent of the person's permanent location or era. On the other hand, relative poverty occurs when a person cannot meet a minimum level of living standards, compared to others in the same time and place. Therefore, the floor at which relative poverty is defined varies from one country to another or from one society to another.

                                                   CAUSES OF POVERTY

Poverty can be cause through the following;

1. HUNGER, MALNUTRITION, AND STUNTING: You might think that poverty causes hunger (and you would be right!), but hunger is also a cause and maintainer of poverty. If a person doesn’t get enough food, they’ll lack the strength and energy needed to work (or their immune system will weaken from malnutrition and leave them more susceptible to illness that prevents them from getting to work.

2.  LACK OF JOBS OR LIVELIHOODS: This might seem like a no-brainer without a job or a livelihood, people will face poverty. Dwindling access to productive land (often due to conflict, overpopulation, or climate change) and over exploitation of resources like fish or minerals puts increasing pressure on many traditional livelihoods. In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for example, most of the population lives in rural communities where natural resources have been plundered over centuries of colonial rule — while conflict over land has forced people away from their source of income and food. Now, more than half of the country lives in extreme poverty.

3.  Environmental circumstances such as natural disasters, droughts, limited resources or depletion of natural resources

                                               HOW TO DEAL WITH POVERTY

                  There are some ways to eradicate poverty in the society. They are:

1.  By Creating jobs for the people in the society.
2. By Raising the minimum wage.
3.  By Increasing the Earned Income Tax Credit for childless workers. 
4. By Supporting pay equity.  
5. By Investing in affordable, high-quality child care and early education.
