1. Get Curious About Your Fears

Fear blinds our vision. Curiosity opens the doors to new possibilities. All fears have answers hidden inside them. You just need to dig.

Dissect your fears with curiosity. Audit yourself. Audit your environment. Afraid of losing your job? Build your skills, dedicate yourself to the tasks everyone avoids and become irreplaceable, then ask for a pay rise! Living with toxic people? Get rid of them! Living in the past? Draw a line in the sand and DON’T look back! focus your energy on your vision, get out there meet new people, network do something you’ve never done.

2. Take Care of Your Health

Your health determines your happiness. And happy people perform much better than others. So take charge of your physical health by focusing on the following:

Diet – Food is your fuel. Replace processed foods with freshly cooked real food. Remove sugary snacks and fast food from your diet. 

Sleep –  Without sleep, you’ll be running on fumes. Sleep a good 7-8 hours each night that you can. 

Exercise – Fitness or illness, you must choose one. Exercise at least 3 days a week. 

3. Seek Help, You Aren’t In This Alone 

When you fall into the abyss of hopelessness, you get stuck with a victim mentality. But it’s up to you to change that. Be brave enough to reach out to friends and family. Wear your heart on your sleeve and you will be amazed by the response. They’ll give you the courage and fortitude to keep going.

Also, learn from mentors and coaches. Even legendary athletes like Lebron James and Michael Jordan needed guidance to progress. A mentor with relevant experience will lift you up more effectively than anyone else. If you can’t find mentors, read the books written by them. 

 And finally, find allies. Find people who are on the same path and facing the same obstacles. Climbing up the mountain is easier if someone has your back  

4. Reconnect With Your Why 

A practical way to know your why is to write in a journal every day. With some awareness, you can find the number one thing that matters to you.

When you feel like giving up, remember  your why, your purpose. Your gifts and example can elevate other people. Don’t let them go to waste. 

5. Take Small Steps to Build Courage 

Start taking small steps and you’ll find the courage to go further. This could mean having a weekly meeting with a mentor or perhaps working on your goals for 30 minutes every day. 

When you move forward, your energy shifts. You are no longer stressed because you’re working on the source of that stress. You move toward your fears, and as a result, your fears lose their power.
