THE STRUGGLE

“A luta continua vitoria é certa” which means “the struggle continues, victory is certain” is slogan commonly used by activists both in the academic and circular settings to communicate displeasure or plight of a particular state or situation in which they are in to the right authority. This displeasure maybe as a result of poor availability of facilities and also facilitators, poor health care system, shortage of water and electricity, etc. in the academic world while in the circular; low salaries, bad facilities, etc. Through the years, notable activists have risen and have led significant breakthroughs in their time. Examples are: Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr, etc. In life, there are lots of ‘struggles’ or better put, challenges. Naturally, things don’t get to work themselves out, humans make them work out. It is said that relationships don’t work themselves out, it is the parties involved that make them work. Isaac Newton’s first law of motion is also called the law of inertia states: “Every object in a state of uniform motion will remain in that state of motion unless an external force acts on it.” This means that if a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a straight line at constant speed unless it is acted upon by a force. Life is a good example; things when in a dormant state, seem. Typically, on a land meant for farming, weeds don’t warrant the process of planting; they grow naturally faster than crops. A land not properly cleared and treated would be liable to get corrupted by weeds. As a farmer, what is needful is to first acknowledge the existence of weeds, and then work tirelessly to eradicate the unwanted plants that could corrupt and kill the “wanted” crops. “Something good never comes easily”, you need to present yourself worthy of the pleasures you desire in life. Naturally, the “land” of life does not grow desirable plants rather it yields unwanted. That is where the struggle is; life is fond of throwing unpleasant things at us, terrible things however, how you respond it matters in what result you would get ultimately. Your resilience through the thick and thin of life would go a very long way. You’ve got to stand up tall through the rough patches of life and say to whatever situation that A LUTA CONTINUA VITORIA É CERTA! By Oladipo Ayoola Joel @ayoolajoel
